Xelas Systems Engineering is looking for highly qualified candidates for the following positions in the Fort Meade Area.

Sr. Oracle Database Engineer
Candidate must have significant experience designing and developing databases in a distributed environment. Candidate should have a firm understanding of database operations in a multi-level database environment to include PL-3 and PL3+ levels. Candidate should have demonstratable skills designing database architectures in a high availability environment. Understand techniques to improve database ingest and high speed query performance. Candidate must demonstrate database performance issues in a VLDB environment.
Database: Oracle v10 -11g, Streams Replication, Oracle Label Security, Materialized Views, Partitioning, GRID Control, OEM, Backup and Recovery using RMAN

Java Developer:
4 + years verifiable experience developing with Java, as well as 2+ years with Java EE or Java application framework (Spring, Seam)
Must have working knowledge of Service-Oriented Architecture concepts and associated Service Component specifications
Must have working knowledge of application servers/server containers (Weblogic, JBoss, Tomcat, etc)
Must have solid working knowledge of Web Services (SOAP and REST-based) and associated mechanisms (messaging protocols, WSDL, etc)
Must have solid working knowledge of XML (XML Schema, XSL/T, etc)
Must have verifiable experience with scripting languages (J/Python, Ruby, Groovy, PHP, etc).
Must have experience working in a Linux and Windows environments and some experience with shell scripting.
Must have experience working with IDEs (Eclipse, JBuilder, Netbeans, etc)
MUST be able to work independently and within tight deadlines

Web Developer:
Design and implement the GUI (Web Presence) for the database backend
Develop Web Service queries/interfaces to current agency systems
Develop Web Services interfaces to the data stored in the database
Provide Software Documentation for each element of development
Maintain source code documentation and interface descriptions for each element developed
Work with agency system developers to identify ways to properly interface with their systems

The candidate should have the following skills and experience:
Experience in writing Rich Internet Applications (RIA) using HTML, JavaScript, creating graphics, programming PHP, developing and implementing AJAX and building and consuming web services through (either SOAP or XML-RPC)
Experience in PHP, AJAX, JavaScript, XML, SOAP, CGI
Familiarity with developing in UNIX environment
Familiarity with developing modular code is a must

Systems Engineer:
This candidate will need to display knowledge of SOA and J2EE architectures, Enterprise Integration, Identifying and defining workflow processes.
Candidate will need to display and participate in architecture and systems software development to include design specifications
Responsibilities will include the development of System/Subsystems Specifications, System/Subsystem Design Descriptions, Interface Design Descriptions, Interface Control Documents, Test and Evaluations Plans and Procedures.
Candidate must have experience with UML Modeling, Linux, Windows, BEA WebLogic, Oracle and Shell Programming
